Hi, I'm Cami — welcome to the fine print that actually matters. Everything on The Styled Hanger, from a five-minute hairstyle to a full at-home nail tutorial, gets filtered through the same set of standards before it ever goes live. This page explains how I choose topics, where my ideas and information come from, how I handle products and partnerships, and what happens if I get something wrong. If you'd like the longer version of who's behind all this, that's over on About Us.

Our Mission

I spent seven years dressing real women in real Nordstrom fitting rooms — over 500 of them, in every size, budget, and body type you can imagine. The Styled Hanger exists to bring that same fitting-room honesty online: repeatable outfit formulas, hairstyles you can actually do before coffee, and nail ideas that survive a full day of dishes. No aspirational nonsense, no rules that only work on one body type. Just style advice that fits your actual life, written by someone who's tried it herself.

How Content Is Created and Reviewed

Every post starts with me — Camille Rhodes — either testing something myself (a haircut technique, a nail hack, an outfit formula) or drawing directly on my seven years of professional styling experience, three of them as a personal stylist and visual merchandiser. I don't hand off writing to anonymous freelancers pretending to be me. If I feature a hairstyle I didn't invent, I say so. If a technique came from a hairstylist friend or a trend I'm testing for the first time, I'm upfront about that too. Before anything publishes, I re-read it for accuracy, re-check any steps or timing claims (like whether that updo really takes under 10 minutes), and make sure the advice still holds up against how real bodies and real budgets actually work.

How We Choose Topics

Topic selection always ties back to what I know works: outfit formulas that repeat well across a real wardrobe, hairstyles that solve an actual problem (thin hair, no time, second-day hair), and nail ideas that don't require a salon appointment. I pay attention to what's trending on Pinterest and in the styling world, but I only cover a trend once I've tried it or can speak to it with real expertise — not just because it's popular that week. You can see a lot of this real-time curation over on my Pinterest, where I'm constantly pinning and testing ideas before they ever become a full post.

Sourcing and Trend Coverage

When I reference a trend, a technique, or a stat, I try to ground it in something real: my own styling background, direct testing, or credible sources within the beauty and fashion industry. I'm not a dermatologist, colorist, or licensed cosmetologist, so anything that touches on hair health, skin sensitivity, or chemical treatments is written from a styling and personal-experience perspective, not a medical one — please treat it that way and consult a professional for anything beyond at-home styling. More on how I frame that is in our Disclaimer.

Product Recommendations

I only recommend products I've genuinely used, tested, or would put on my own clothing rack (which, fair warning, has fully replaced my dining table). I care more about whether something works on a real budget and a real body than whether it's the trendiest name in the game. Some posts include affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you purchase through them — at no extra cost to you. That never changes what I recommend or how honestly I review it. Full details live in our Affiliate Disclaimer.

Advertising and Partnerships

The Styled Hanger sometimes works with brands, and may run ads or accept collaborations to keep the site running. I'm transparent about when content is sponsored or gifted, and that relationship never dictates my honest opinion — if a product doesn't work, I say so, partnership or not. You can read the full breakdown of how these relationships work in our Disclosure page, and if you're a brand interested in working together, details are on our Collaboration page.

Corrections Process

I'm one person testing hairstyles in my Atlanta apartment with a dachshund underfoot, so mistakes happen — a timing that's off, a link that breaks, a technique that needs a clearer step. When I learn about an error, I correct it directly in the post as soon as possible, and for anything significant, I'll note that an update was made. If you spot something that needs fixing, I genuinely want to know — email me at [email protected] and I'll look into it personally.

Community Moderation

Comments and community interaction on The Styled Hanger are meant to feel like chatting with a friend in the fitting room — supportive, honest, and judgment-free. I moderate comments to keep that spirit intact, and our full expectations around respectful, on-topic conversation are outlined in our Community Guidelines. Comments that are spammy, unkind, or unrelated to the post may be removed.
